RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CLIMATE CHANGE AND WINE QUALITY IN THE SLOVACKO SUBREGION AS A SUPPORT TO MANAGERIAL AND MARKETING DECISION MAKING

Wine grapes are highly sensitive to changes in climate. The aim of the study was evaluate influence selected climatic variables such as air temperature, total precipitation and North Atlantic Oscillation Index on wine quality. This effect monitored individual phenological stages grapevine plant growth; monitoring done separately for each varieties. following varieties were subjected evaluation: Pinot Gris, Riesling, Welschriesling, Blanc Müller Thurgau from Slovacko subregion Czech Republic. long-term trend climate development also analysed through two bioclimatic indices. Our results show statistically significant effects change quality during various subregion. temperatures first stage proved be either negative (for Thurgau, Welschriesling Riesling varieties) or insignificant Gris varieties). For second, third, fourth stages, positive most confirmed both Riesling. During phase, this proves positive, while other has a (NAOI) shows impact variety stage. second third NAOI Blanc. Furthermore, slight, significant, growth Winkler index. hydrothermal index is insignificant, which probably due decrease precipitation.
